Counselor In Training Program

What:

Our Counselor in Training (CIT) program is specifically designed for teens entering into 8th and 9th grade who want to develop their leadership skills in working with children. Teens will learn behavior management, team-building, communication and activity leadership by helping counselors work with younger campers. Supervised by our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) Director, teens will have the hands-on opportunity to assist group counselors, teach activities and plan special events.

 

Who:  The Counselor in Training program will be available for those entering 8th and 9th grade. A limited number of applicants will be selected for each session. Students accepted into the Counselors In Training Program are not counselors.

 

When: The CIT program will run in 3 week sessions from July -August. Accepted CIT’s will attend either one or two sessions based off of registration preference.

  • Session 1: July 8th-July 26th
  • Session 2: July 29th-August 16th
  • Session 1 & 2: July 8th-August 16th

 

How to apply: Those who are interested must complete an application and set up an interview with CIT Director. Based on the application and interview, a limited number of CIT’s will be chosen. Applications will be accepted at The Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield between March 11th and May 31st.

 

Cost:  The cost for each 3 week session is $400.  Participants Can sign up for one or two sessions.
