A group of citizens identified a need in the community for safe and reliable after school enrichment programming that kept the children of the community safe and engaged during the hour when children are most vulnerable.  In response to this need the Boys and Girls Club of Marshfield was established in 1999 and the Club was incorporated in 2000. The Board launched its first capital campaign with a goal of $500,000. The campaign was a success and in 2004 the doors to a 4,000 square foot storefront opened. Due to our rapidly growing membership, the Board embarked on a second capital campaign with a goal of $3.5 million in 2006 to construct a 17,000 square foot clubhouse that included a gymnasium, arts center, elementary games room, learning center, computer lab, kitchen, fields, a playground and teen center. The groundbreaking was conducted in September 2011 and construction was completed in May 2012.  The new state of the art facility opened its doors in June of 2012. In just over a year our daily average attendance more than tripled, from 79 to 266 and this year we boast over 310 members per day. The larger facility allowed us to expand the programs we offer, serve more youth and extend our hours. Programs that are offered at the new Club consist of a comprehensive teen program, youth athletic programs, and expanded program opportunities in educational enrichment, the arts, and social recreational programs.
